Industry Leaders MediaBank and INVISION Join the Council for Accountable Advertising
New York, N.Y. – June 23, 2011 – The Council for Accountable Advertising proudly announced today the addition of MediaBank and INVISION to its member roster. The Council now includes 11 best-of-breed companies from the world of online advertising, as well as outside experts from the worlds of academia and industry research.
“The Council represents some of the most innovative leaders in digital advertising, working in true partnership to create value for advertisers, agencies, and publishers alike,” said Bill Wise, Chief Executive Officer, MediaBank. “We are thrilled to serve as part of that group, and to lend our expertise in digital and traditional media in full support of the Council’s efforts.”
“INVISION has taken a leadership role in driving standards in television advertising. Now, as part of the Council, we look to take a leadership role in driving standards in the digital media industry,” said Lynda Clarizio, President and Chief Executive Office, INVISION Inc. “We’re excited to work with the Council to facilitate efforts to make workflow, processes and procedures for online advertising simpler, more cost-effective and less redundant within the digital world.”
“The Council is the most exclusive group of best of breed advertising technologies on the market. We congratulate MediaBank and INVISION on their admission to the Council and their commitment to continuing to help lead and innovate the industry,” said Stephen Messer, Chairman, Council for Accountable Advertising.
MediaBank, which provides media planning, buying, and accounting software across all major traditional and digital media channels, both strengthens the Council’s ties to the digital ecosystem and expands the Council’s work into traditional media. MediaBank’s client base represents over $20B in media management; current users include Publicis’ Starcom MediaVest Group, and Interpublic Group’s Mediabrands North America is slated to complete its migration to MediaBank systems by the end of 2011.
INVISION is the leading provider of advertising planning and sales solutions to the media industry and is trusted by the leading media content providers to manage over $13 billion in advertising revenue each year. The company’s DealMaker suite of products is used by more media companies than any other software solution. In 2011, INVISION is introducing DealMaker Digital (DMD), a comprehensive digital ad sales planning and management system, which will help solve inefficiencies in digital advertising and allow publishers to more effectively plan and manage their sales processes.
Since launching earlier this year, the Council for Accountable Advertising has begun to work on a number of initiatives to remove some of the barriers to adoption that exist in the ad tech market, including creation of member wide data and legal integration guidelines to help promote interoperability, standards, best practices, and transparency. These guidelines will be formally introduced in the coming weeks. The Council will also shortly be launching an educational series, as well as a recruiting initiative designed to promote awareness of career opportunities in the start-up space to top talent.
About The Council for Accountable Advertising
The Council for Accountable Advertising was formed in March 2011 by three premier industry companies – Cross Commerce Media, Inc., MediaMath and TARGUSinfo – in an effort to clarify the confusion that exists in the ad tech market. The Council has a host of initiatives designed to protect clients from sub-standard practices and, at the same time, remove some of the complexity around adoption of cutting edge technology. Member companies include Admeld (which recently signed an agreement to be acquired by Google, NASDAQ: GOOG), AdSafe, AudienceScience, Peer39, Solve Media, and TidalTV. The Council’s Research Committee is led by Joanna O’Connell of Forrester Research and Colin Gillis of BGC Financial. The Council’s Academic Committee is led by Evan Korth, co-founder of hackNY and a professor at NYU.
